Drifting Cycles was an off-venue exhibition held during DesignMarch 2016 in a remote lighthouse by a group of Product Design students of the Iceland Academy of the Arts. The projects exhibited are connected by their intention to make a change in existing systems and ways of thinking.

In various courses within the department, led by Garðar Eyjólfsson and Thomas Pausz, students have been analyzing and mapping out specific systems of production and processes within varying fields of interest. Practising their skills in seeing matters not isolated but in cycles and their context of existence, this exhibition showcased nine individual interpretations of students’ research. Ranging from practical to speculative, questioning present norms and proposing alternative futures.
